For those Turkey hunters preferring a friction call or looking to learn how to use a friction call, Turkey Time University Volume 2 from Zink Calls is a great reference tool.. The dvd features veteran turkey hunters Josh Grossenbacher, Shane Hendershot, and Mark Hoke and starts off by getting a glimpse of the construction of custom built Power Hen pots. The Power Hen Custom built turkey calls were introduced in 2009. The Zink crew discusses the qualities and differences of each pot material they offer: aluminum, slate, and crystal. The first thing the Zink crew covers on the DVD is call conditioning, which is one of the most important topics that can be covered to achieve optimum performance from any friction call.

Next the Zink crew discusses hand position and how to hold the pot. Just like the mouth calling DVD, each of the veteran turkey callers hold the striker and pot different when calling. This allows the beginner caller to use which ever method is easier learned to achieve their desired performance. The rest of the DVD covers basic notes for the turkey hunter. Along with each note, they show close up camera footage of striker position and compare each note they produce to the sounds of a live hen in the field. Between each of the note demonstrations, the Zink crew interjects pro-tips for the field.

The DVD ends with an excellent youth hunt with Shane and his son Devon in Ohio. This hunt is a great demonstration of how to change things up to be successful plus, you get 5 plus minutes of a gobbler just thrashing a decoy before Devon puts the smack down on him. Overall, this is another excellent instructional DVD for the beginner or average turkey caller because it breaks down the basic notes and gives pro's tips that can be used to be successful in the turkey woods.
